On the Approximation of Pseudo Linear Systems by Linear Time Varying Systems (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper presents a modified method for approximating nonlinear systems by a sequence of linear time varying systems. The convergence proof is outlined and the potential of this methodology is discussed. Simulation results are used to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
متن کاملSolitons in nonintegrable systems.
We introduce the concept of this special focus issue on solitons in nonintegrable systems. A brief overview of some recent developments is provided, and the various contributions are described. The topics covered in this focus issue are the modulation of solitons, bores, and shocks, the dynamical evolution of solitary waves, and existence and stability of solitary waves and embedded solitons.
متن کاملRelaxation time approximation forelectron - phonon interaction insemiconductorsPeter
A Boltzmann equation for semiconductors is considered. Physical assumptions include the parabolic band approximation and a new relaxation time model for electron-phonon interaction. Thermal equilibrium distributions for this scattering mechanism are products of Maxwellian distributions with periodic functions of the energy, where the period is the energy of a phonon. The hydrodynamic limit is c...
متن کاملConstruction of Special Solutions for Nonintegrable Systems
The Painlevé test is very useful to construct not only the Laurent series solutions of systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations but also the elliptic and trigonometric ones. The standard methods for constructing the elliptic solutions consist of two independent steps: transformation of a nonlinear polynomial differential equation into a nonlinear algebraic system and a search for so...
متن کاملViscous hydrodynamics with bulk viscosity – uncertainties from relaxation time and initial conditions
Bulk viscosity suppresses elliptic flow v2, as does shear viscosity. It can thus not be neglected when extracting the shear viscosity from elliptic flow data. We here explore uncertainties in the bulk viscous contribution to viscous v2 suppression that arise from presently uncontrolled uncertainties in the initial value of the bulk viscous pressure and its microscopic relaxation time.
